Ordinance 17: Repair/Replacement of Water Meters
ORDINANCE # 17 REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF WATER METERS OR OTHER MEASURING DEVICES
All meters or other measuring devices and curb boxes installed for the purpose of measuring the total volume of water used on the premises shall be under the control of the Town Council of Townsend. The owner of the property upon which such measuring device or curbg box is installed shall be responsible for its maintaence and safekeeping; and all repair or replacement thereto shall be made at the owner’s expense, whether such repairs or replacements are made necessary by ordinary wear and tear or other causes. The bill for such repairs or replacemtnts, if made by the Town of Townsend, shall be due and payable at the same time, and collected in the same manner as are the bills for trash and water service.
