ORDINANCE # 24 Relating to Destruction, Defacing and Interference with Town Owned and Maintained Signs
Within the Limits of the Town of Townsend be it enacted by the President and Council of the Town of Townsend, the President and a Majority of Council Concerning Therein:
A.) No person shall, without lawful authority, intentionally or recklessly alter, damage, deface, remove, nock-down or therefore with the operation of any public roadway sign or signal or Town owned, maintained or controlled sign or signal or other appurtenance or any inscription, shield or insignia thereon or any part thereof.
B.) Whoever violates paragraph (A) shall be fined twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each offense and be assessed restitution in any amount for any damage resulting thereon including the cost or repairing, replacing, or removing the same.
C.) The Justice of the Peach Court shall have original jurisdiction over this offense.
