Ordinance 4: Concerning Nuisances, Hazards, or Unsanitary Conditions
ORDINANCE # 4 CONCERNING NUISANCES, HAZARDS, OR UNSANITARY CONDITIONS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF TOWNSEND
Within the Limits of Town of Townsend Be it Enacted by the President and Council of the Town of Townsend, the President and a Majority of Council Concerning Therein:
It shall be unlawful for any person, individual, firm, company, corporation, association, society, or group to cause or allow to exist any nuisance, hazard, or unsanitary condition within the corporate limits of the Town of Townsend.
When within the opinion of the Town Council or its designate there exists any nuisance, hazard or unsanitary condition within the corporate limits of the Town of Townsend, there shall cause to be sent to the person who has caused or allowed to exist such condition a written notice specifying the violation of Section 1: the condition to be corrected, and unless within 10 days from receipt of said notice the condition is not corrected or removed, the Town Council or its designate shall have the authority to correct or remove the same and charge the person the cost of correcting or removing the same.
The Town Council or its designate shall have the authority if such condition not be corrected or removed within 10 days from the receipt of the notice as provided herein to correct or remove such condition at the expense of the person who is in violation of this ordinance.
