PUBLIC NOTICE: Comments Requested – Townsend Safe Routes to School
Date Posted: Wednesday, June 12th, 2024On May 8th, 2024 a Public Workshop was held at Townsend Town Hall. The purpose of the public workshop was to present preliminary concepts and obtain input from the public on selected improvements.
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is continuing to seek public input on proposed pedestrian facility improvements in Townsend. The effort includes missing sidewalk gap connections, crosswalks, and other enhancements. Specific sections of roadway include Main Street from Edgar Road to Chestnut Lane on the north side; Main Street from Cannery Lane to Chestnut Lane on the south side; and South Street from Main Street to Gray Street.
