New Council Member Installed at April 17, 2019 Council Meeting
Councilman Rob Leight submitted his resignation from Town Council mid-term since he was relocating outside Town limits. He was presented with a resolution and plaque by Mayor and Council on behalf of the Town thanking him for his service.
Patrick Miller, who was appointed by Council to replace Councilman Leight, is shown below with Mayor Rudy Sutton and Acting Town Clerk Ivonne Romero as he takes the oath of office.

CLOSED Open Position – Financial Clerk
The Town of Townsend, Delaware is accepting applications for the position of Financial Clerk. Responsible for performing the day to day processing of financial transactions to ensure that municipal finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
Applicants must be knowledgeable of general accounting principles and regulations, financial record keeping and reporting. Ideally the successful candidate will have an understanding of filing requirements to maintain compliance, accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures, reconciliation protocols, payroll processing and assisting with budgeting.
We seek an individual with a proven history of initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of governmental accounting or fiscal management is preferred.
