Snow Emergency Declared at 10 am, on Friday, January 28, 2022 Has Now Been Lifted

The Snow Emergency Declared at 10 am, on Friday, January 28, 2022 has now been lifted.  The Town of Townsend snowplow contractor has successfully completed plowing and salting within the corporate limits of Townsend.  The Level 1 Driving Warning for New Castle County will be lifted as of 6 pm, Saturday, January 29, 2022 and the Level 2 Driving Restriction for Kent and Sussex counties has now been changed to a Level 1 Driving Warning, per the Governor.  Residents should continue to use caution when driving, as dangerously low temperatures tonight can lead to freezing surfaces.  Thank you to all for your cooperation with removing motor vehicles parked on the even numbered addressed side of the roads within the corporate limits of Townsend.
