NOTICE

Declaration of Snow Emergency

Due to weather forecast and in accordance with Section 10.08.010 of the Municipal Code of the Town of Townsend, a Declaration of Emergency has been issued in the Town of Townsend as of 8:00 PM, today, Saturday, February 12th, 2022 through Sunday, February 13th, 2022.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 1 AM, Sunday, February 13th, 2022, through 4 PM, Sunday, February 13th, 2022.  The area is forecasted for light snow accumulations of 1-3 inches.  Residents are also advised of low temperatures from Sunday through Tuesday.

Residents with even numbered addresses are directed to remove all motor vehicles that are parked on the side of any road within the corporate limits of Townsend. Parking of all vehicles on the even numbered addresses side of the street is hereby prohibited and will remain prohibited during the continuance of the snow emergency. Parking on the side of Townsend maintained streets bearing odd-numbered addresses is permitted.

The Town snowplow contractor has been placed on standby to begin plowing after snow accumulations reach 2 inches.
