The Town of Townsend, DE is seeking applications for the position of Part-Time Seasonal Public Works Employee.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Town of Townsend is anticipating hiring a flexible Part-time Seasonal Public Works Employee to work approximately 20 to 25 hours weekly.

The Part-time Seasonal Public Works Employee will be working with the Public Works team to maintain and beautify the Town.

Qualified applicants must have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude and demeanor as they will be working with other Town employees and members of the public.

Job duties will include but are not limited to:

• Cleanup of Town parks and facilities
• Operations of landscaping and lawn care equipment
• Weed trimming
• Lifting of materials as necessary
• Maintenance of Public Works equipment
• Climbing ladders
• Clearing storm drains
• Application of pesticides
• Brush removal
• Special event preparations

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent

Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs on an as needed basis and will be working outside in various weather conditions.

Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools is preferable.

The successful candidate must pass a background check and drug test and hold a valid driver’s license -. . Hourly rate is dependent upon experience.
