The Police Build project will be the engineering, drafting, design and construction of the new Police Station of Townsend.

All bids are required to be sealed and identified on the outside refencing the bid as they will be kept sealed until the close of the bidding timeframe.
A Bidder’s Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 from 12pm to 1pm at Townsend Town Hall for all who are interested in attending to receive clarifications or additional information.

The Town of Townsend thanks everyone who provided donations to support our Community Pantry. Since we installed the Blessings Box Food Pantry in May of 2023, we have been able to help serve our Community and assist those in need. In order to keep the pantry sustainable with your donations, please consider donating the following items listed below:

- Letters of Encouragement
- Pet Needs

Code Red is an important tool which allows for the Town of Townsend to reach out and communicate important information and emergency messages to residents. - What is CodeRED and why is it important to me?
CodeRED is an emergency notification service that allows emergency officials to notify residents and businesses by telephone, cell phone, text message, email and social media regarding time-sensitive general and emergency notifications. Only authorized officials have access to the CodeRED system. - When will CodeRED be used?
Any message regarding the safety, property or welfare of the community will be disseminated using the CodeRED system. These may include AMBER alerts, notifications of hazardous traffic or road conditions, boil water advisories or evacuation notices.

EXTENDED: Parking Notice- Impending Snow Storm starting Friday. January 3rd, 2025
EXTENDED PARKING NOTICE- Snow Emergency
The Parking notice enforcing the “One-sided parking” has been extended until Wednesday, January 8th, 2025. This is to ensure swift and safe snow removal from any and all plowing services being performed in Town.
All vehicles must park either in private driveways or on the side of the street with Odd Numbered homes.

REMINDER: Casella to Collect Christmas Trees for Disposal Monday, January 6th, 2025
Santa and his elves will be back Monday, January 6th, 2025 to collect the holiday trees!
Tree collection is not an easy job but you can help:
- Please remove all lights and decorations.
- Cut down any trees over 6 feet tall.
- Tree bags are not allowed in the sleigh.
- Place the trees at the curb the night before.

2026 Municipal Waste Service Guidelines
Residents are reminded of the following guidelines for trash, recycling, and yard waste collection. Please take special notice that only trash should be bagged; recycling and yard waste should not be bagged.
Trash:
- Collected Mondays on a weekly basis with recycling. The following is the delayed pick-up schedule due to the holiday:
- Memorial Day pick-up is 05/26/2026
- Labor Day pick-up is 09/08/2026
- Please place containers at the curb the night before or no later than 7 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day.
- Trash must be placed at the curb no earlier than 24 hours prior to scheduled trash pick-up. All trash containers must be removed from the sidewalk area no later than 24 hours after trash pick-up. Trash containers and/or bags should be placed at the edge of the property so as not to block the sidewalk.
- Pick up times are subject to change. If trash is not picked up as a result of not having it out by the arrival time of the driver; there may be a $25 fee to pick up before your next scheduled pick-up day.
- Please place the carts out to the curb with the wheels and handles facing the house and the lift bar facing the road. The carts should be clear of any obstructions such as mailboxes, cars, utility poles, garage doors, etc. The truck and driver must have clear access to the rollout carts.
- Trash containers and/or bags should be placed at the edge of the property so as not to block the sidewalk.
- For a regular scheduled service, your pickup includes (1) 95 – Gallon cart. Please call in to schedule an additional pickup for extra trash or bulk items. (Additional charges may apply)
- Please bag all trash.
Recycling:
- Collected Monday’s on a weekly basis with recycling. The following is the delayed pick-up schedule due to the holiday:
- Memorial Day pick-up is 05/26/2026
- Labor Day pick-up is 09/08/2026
- Please break down or cut any large cardboard boxes and place all recyclable loose on the provided cart.
- Absolutely NO bags can be placed in the can or beside it.
Yard Waste:
- Yard Waste is collected on a bi-weekly basis on the same weekday as trash and recycling. Yard Waste is collected beginning April 13th, 2026, through December 21st, 2026.
- Yard waste must be placed loose inside the provided container.
- Absolutely NO bags can be placed in the can or beside it.
- Lids on cans must be able to close, nothing sticking or hanging out of the can.
- Along with the can, Casella can take small bundles of twigs, branches, etc. They must be bundled with sturdy twine and manageable by one person. No more than 3 additional small bundles.
- PLEASE NOTE***Casella does NOT take sand, dirt, sod, mulch, rock or large thick tree trunks. Branches no thicker than 3” in diameter and no longer than 4’ in length
