ANNOUNCING: Notice of Solicitation Period for Candidate Packets – 2025 Town of Townsend Town Council Election
NOTICE OF SOLICITATION OF CANDIDATES
The annual Town Council election is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd, 2025; the First Saturday in May, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There are Three (3) Council positions open for election.
If you are interested in serving as a Member of the Town Council,
Petitions of Candidacy may be requested by calling Town Hall at 302-378-8082 or by emailing townhall@townsend.delaware.gov.
Applications are available beginning: Friday, February 28th, 2025.
*PETITION OF CANDIDACY APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED AT TOWN HALL BY 4:30 P.M. on Thursday, March 27th, 2025.
** A confirmation notice will be provided by the Town of Townsend upon receipt of your Petition of Candidacy. **
QUALIFICATIONS for CANDIDACY
• Be 18 years of age.
• Be a Citizen of the United States of America.
• Be a registered voter in the State of Delaware, New Castle County.
• Be a legal resident within the Town Corporate boundaries for a minimum of twelve (12) consecutive months immediately preceding the filing of Candidacy.
• Must successfully pass a background check, as provided by the Town of Townsend, if elected.

BID WINDOW EXTENDED- Townsend Police Build & Bid Meeting Q&A Responses

Bid Opening Date: January 15th, 2025

Submission Deadline: March 14th, 2025

Location of Submission: 141 Main Street, PO Box 223 Townsend, DE 19734

The Police Build project will be the engineering, drafting, design and construction of the new Police Station of Townsend.

All bids are required to be sealed and identified on the outside refencing the bid as they will be kept sealed until the close of the bidding timeframe.

 

A Bidder’s Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 from 12pm to 1pm at Townsend Town Hall for all who are interested in attending to receive clarifications or additional information.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT: Townsend Townhall Library Open to Townsend Residents

Townsend Townhall Library Located within Townhall- 141 Main Street To Reserve a book, simply email or mail in the requested book title and date of desired collection. At time of pick up- you will need to show identification confirming you are a Townsend resident. IMPORTANT INFO: Check out Times are for 30 days. Three books are eligible to be reserved at one time. Extensions are available if no future reservations are in place.
