REMINDER – PUBLIC NOTICE: Comments Requested – Townsend Safe Routes to School
LAST DAY TO SUBMIT COMMENTS TO DELDOT, TODAY, 6/17/2024 –
On May 8th, 2024 a Public Workshop was held at Townsend Town Hall. The purpose of the public workshop was to present preliminary concepts and obtain input from the public on selected improvements.
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is continuing to seek public input on proposed pedestrian facility improvements in Townsend. The effort includes missing sidewalk gap connections, crosswalks, and other enhancements. Specific sections of roadway include Main Street from Edgar Road to Chestnut Lane on the north side; Main Street from Cannery Lane to Chestnut Lane on the south side; and South Street from Main Street to Gray Street.

***Please be advised, as of 07/10/2024, solicitations to fill the seats for the Town Board of Adjustment and the Planning Commission are now closed. Town Council has made re-appointments for the members who hold the seats currently. The Town is continuing to solicit for open Board of Elections Seat.***
Interested in making a difference within the Town? We are currently seeking to fill positions within the Town to serve on the Planning Commission, the Board of Adjustment, and the Board of Elections.
