THANK YOU: Veterans
The Town of Townsend feels Veterans should be honored and thanked for their service at any given time or place to recognize the sacrifices they have made and continue to make to serve our great Country and keep us free.
On April 18th, 2009, via Resolution No. 09-02, the Town of Townsend declared that day of each year Townsend Veterans Recognition Day. Over the course of years the Town of Townsend has strived to recognize our Veterans by holding several events.
In keeping with our commitment to honor our Veterans, the Town of Townsend held a supply drive to support the Veterans of The Brian Conley Veterans Resiliency Center and delivered the supplies to the center on Thursday, November 9th, 2023. In addition to the supplies, students of Townsend Elementary School, Cub Scout Pak 351, Girl Scout Troop 1220, and residents of Townsend wrote letters to Veterans to show their support and appreciation for the sacrifices of the Veterans.
To learn more about the services provided by The Brian Conley Veterans Resiliency Center, please visit https://www.whwonline.org/.
Please join the Town of Townsend in continued recognition of all Military Veterans who reside in the 19734-zip code by submitting a photograph along with a brief description to Townhall. Be sure to include the term of service, rank, branch of the military, etc. so that it may be added to our photo book.
