Townsend Business Spotlight – October 2025

Townsend Business Spotlight – October 2025

Featuring: Little Italy Pizza (LIPS)

This month’s Townsend Business Spotlight shines on a local favorite that has been serving our community for over a decade – Little Italy Pizza (LIPS)!

About the Business
Little Italy Pizza has been a cornerstone of Townsend for the past 12 years, bringing delicious pizza, warm hospitality, and a true family atmosphere to our town. Owner and operator, along with his brother Michael and family, has built more than just a pizza shop – he’s built a gathering place where customers quickly become part of the LIPS family.

How It All Started
Inspired by a lifelong love of the restaurant industry, the owners opened their first location at Boyd’s Corner. When an opportunity arose to bring LIPS to Townsend, they jumped at the chance, knowing the town’s small-town charm and welcoming community would be the perfect fit.

What Makes LIPS Unique
Unlike many pizza shops, LIPS is a family-owned small business – not a franchise. Mom manages the financial side, and the children work alongside the family each day. It’s this close-knit team approach that makes the shop feel so personal and inviting.

The Heart of the Business – Customers
For LIPS, customers are everything. The staff makes it a priority to know names, provide top-notch service, and make every guest feel like family. As the owner says, “I like to treat every customer as part of the LIPS family, and I preach customer service to the staff. It makes such a difference!”

Proud Moments
While there isn’t one single moment that stands out, the heartfelt notes, cards, and online reviews left by customers mean the world to the LIPS team. Each message reminds them of the positive impact they’ve made in the community.

Community Support
From day one, Townsend has embraced LIPS with open arms. Even through early growing pains, residents stood by their local pizza shop and helped it thrive into what it is today.

Special Promotions
Football fans, take note! Every Sunday during football season, LIPS will be offering some of the best deals around. Be sure to keep an eye out for announcements and bring your appetite.

Behind the Counter
One thing the owner wishes more people knew: the hardworking team of local high school and college students who help run LIPS. These young adults keep the shop operating smoothly, showing dedication and hustle that make the business proud.

A Message to Townsend
“I could not ask for more than the support the residents of Townsend have already given me over the past 12 years. There are several small businesses in Townsend, and I wish success for them all. Please keep supporting the ‘little guy,’ and if a mistake ever happens, talk to us directly – chances are it can be resolved!”

👉 Stop by Little Italy Pizza and experience why it has been a beloved part of Townsend for over a decade. Whether you’re coming in for a quick slice or a family meal, you’ll be welcomed like one of their own.
