National Wildlife magazine is excited to announce the opening of its 50th annual photo contest. This year the Grand Prize winner will be honored with their Nature’s Witness Award, a cash prize of $5,000 and an SP 150-600mm Di VC USD G2 lens (valued at $1,399) from Tamron, a proud supporter of the 2021 National Wildlife Photo Contest. The winner of their new portfolio category will be awarded $750. In each of the eight subject categories, first place wins $500 and second place wins $250. Whether you’re an amateur or professional photographer, why not share some of your best images of wildlife and wild lands from around the world to your own backyard. The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) is hosting a memorial to remember and honor the lives lost to COVID-19 in cities and towns across the country on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. EST. A Washington, D.C. ceremony will feature a lighting around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool; it will be the first-ever lighting around the Reflecting Pool to memorialize American lives lost. The Presidential Inaugural Committee is inviting cities, towns, and homes across the country to join Washington, D.C. in illuminating buildings and ringing church bells at 5:30 p.m. EST in a national moment of unity and remembrance. Townsend Playground Equipment Remains Closed & Park Pavilion Rentals Remain Suspended for the next six months; or until it is safe to reopen.   With an abundance of caution for our residents and visitors, Town Council has decided, at the 12/23/2020 Town Council meeting, that the Townsend playground equipment, basketball court, and skate park, will remain closed for the next six months; or until it is safe to reopen.  In addition, Town Council has continued to suspend Park Pavilion Rentals for the next six months; or until it is safe to reopen to aid in the fight against the spread of the Coronavirus.
