“RESPECT DAY” at Townsend Elementary School

October 19, 2016 will be designated as “RESPECT DAY” at Townsend Elementary School (TES). In an effort to help make TES a more respectful civil society, Second Grade has decided to hold a day specifically devoted to encouraging respect.  Prior to this day, they will be selling Respect necklaces (made by the students) for $1 per necklace. On Wednesday, October 19th, all of the students at TES will be encouraged to WEAR ORANGE (this is also National Unity Day) and be SUPER respectful to others.  Peers will nominate their classmates who are “caught’ being extra respectful throughout the day and certificates will be given to those students who are being SUPER respectful. The students who purchase a necklace to support the cause will give their necklaces to a peer that has followed the Golden Rule towards them.  “Treat others as you would like to be treated.”  The necklaces will be […]
