Wiggins to the vacant Council seat, previously filled by Councilman Joshua Mertz, at the July 10, 2024 Town Council Meeting. On Wednesday, August 7th, Mr. Wiggins was officially sworn in during Town Council meeting. Councilman Dylan K. Wiggins is the newest member to serve the Town of Townsend as a council board member and was sworn in on August 7, 2024. Councilman Wiggins is a Philadelphia native and received his early education in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and in the Willingboro and Winslow Township, New Jersey school districts. After high school, Councilman Wiggins attended Delaware State University, where he focused his studies in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. Upon graduating in 2004, Councilman Wiggins served as a Police Officer for the City of Newark, Delaware for approximately nine years thereafter.
