Date Posted: Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015Smart911 is a free service that allows citizens across the U.S. to create a Safety Profile for their household that includes any information they want 9-1-1 to have in the event of an emergency. Then, when anyone in that household dials 9-1-1 from a phone associated with their Safety Profile, their profile is immediately displayed to the 9-1-1 call taker providing additional information that can be used to facilitate the proper response to the proper location. At a time when seconds count, being able to provide 9-1-1 with all details that could impact response the second an emergency call is placed could be the difference between life and death. If you see something suspicious, call the police and report it. You can call 911 if it is an emergency, or call the non-emergency number: 302-573-2800. You do not have to give your name, you can do this anonymously. The Town built you a park to give you some place to go with your children. Please help us in maintaining it and keeping it nice. Report anything suspicious you see! The Mayor and Council of Townsend is offering a REWARD of up to $1,000.00 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone caught vandalizing the park in any way.

Restraint and control of animals. (a) All dogs shall be kept under restraint at all times. (b) No owner shall fail to exercise proper care of control of his animals to prevent them from becoming a public nuisance (Public nuisance animal as defined by the Town Code). Project 19734 Soldier Support
Date Posted: Friday, February 13th, 2015Veteran’s Affairs Committee would like to announce Project 19734 Soldier Support. At January’s VA committee meeting, Mayor Raughley, Councilman Hanlin and I (Karen Jennings) added Project 19734 Soldier Support to our agenda in efforts to show our appreciation and gratitude to our Townsend Residents currently deployed. Project 19734 Soldier Support will collect care package donations for Townsend’s deployed soldiers. U.S. Troops are currently deployed all over the world and currently fighting in several countries, including Afghanistan and Iraq. Thousands of troops are serving peacekeeping missions, many in Europe, Asia, and Africa. It is the mission of the VA Committee to show our support for Townsend’s military members, deployed and serving our great Country. The Project 19734 Soldier Support donation basket is located at Townsend’s Town Hall. Building Permits Required
Date Posted: Friday, February 13th, 2015Homeowners, you must obtain a building permit from the Town Hall for any projects you wish to have done to your property; and you must call the Town Hall for all inspections for any type of addition that requires a permit. You must also have a final C/O on the addition. Please call the Town Hall at 302-378-8082 24 to 48 hours in advance for an inspection. All contractors doing work for you must be licensed in the Town of Townsend. Please call the Town Hall at 302-378-8082 to verify your contractor is licensed with up to date information.
