National Wildlife Federation Photo Contest

The National Wildlife Federation 2019 Photo Contest begins on August 5th.  The Garden for Wildlife Photo Contest is back and we want to see photos of you and your wildlife garden! We are looking for photos of YOU, birds, butterflies, bees and other backyard wildlife for a chance to win cash and garden themed prizes — including a $1000 Grand Prize! National Wildlife Federation Garden for Wildlife Program

Mark your calendars for the spring launch of Butterfly Heroes! The monarchs still need our help! As part of our Garden for Wildlife program, Butterfly Heroes seeks to bring awareness to their declining population. Take the pledge, and you can help create new habitats for monarch butterflies. Supplies are limited. Your FREE Butterfly Garden Starter Kits include regionally appropriate milkweed seeds, a Ranger Rick Nature Notebook, and directions to create or expand a butterfly garden! Scholarship Opportunity thru NWF

Craig Tufts’ Educational Scholarship Award Accepting Applications through 3/24 The family of Craig Tufts, Family Summits Inc., and the National Wildlife Federation invite youth to enter the 8th Annual Craig Tufts Educational Essay Scholarship competition.  The Craig Tufts Educational Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Craig Tufts, Chief Naturalist of the National Wildlife Federation.  This competition is open to any young person between the ages of 8 and 18 to submit an essay (guidelines and requirements).  The selected entry will receive a once-in-a-lifetime experience to attend a week-long summer outdoor adventure camp with a parent or guardian at the Granlibakken Resort in Lake Tahoe, California. The Fund provides travel, room and board, and program fees for the award recipient and an accompanying parent or guardian.  Entries are due by Friday, March 24.  Please share this opportunity with those in your network who might be interested in applying.
